Barrenjoey Locksmiths and Alarms was founded in 1975, originally in Mona Vale on the northern beaches of Sydney by the original owners George and Jeanette Ramsay. George and Jeanette grew the business over the 35 years that they ran the business to what it is today.
In 2009, the company was taken over by another local family, Ian and Bev Coltman with Lee and Kirsty Coltman. Lee started out as an apprentice, working for the company in various positions for 12 years before the transition to one of four directors.

Helping Local Community
Barrenjoey Locksmiths and Alarms continues to employ staff from the local community, including having trained over 50 apprentices during its history. The company currently has over 25 local staff, comprising of qualified locksmith and alarm technicians, apprentices and administration staff. Our head office, service and restricted key system departments are now located at our new premises at Brookvale. The company is also still located in Mona Vale, giving the residents and businesses in the peninsula area a retail outlet for their convenience.
The company has continued to provide the general public and its clientele with a very responsive and efficient 24 hour emergency service since its establishment, from its fleet of 16 mobile workshop service vehicles.
Barrenjoey Locksmiths and Alarms have many long term clientele including local businesses, clubs, schools, councils, state and federal departments and large corporate clients located throughout all of Australia and New Zealand, who have various restricted key systems. The company manages on behalf of many of our clientele all maintenance issues of their key systems and locks to all their many sites throughout Australasia.
